Thunderstruck
Prologue
Lightning struck the ground as rain poured down from the sky. The thudding of paws was just able to hear through the thunder. A figure appeared, growling, staring at a small shape running to an overhanging rock. The strange figure bolted to the small shape staying as quietly as can be. The small shape pricked its ears hearing the stranger coming. The figure attacked the small thing, she it shrieked in pain then laid limp. “You’ve just been thunderstruck!” It said smiling.
When morning came a large cat appeared and found the small thing lying on the ground. “Who did this? Who attacked my cub?” It yowled. The same figure that killed the young cat appeared smiling evilly. “I did it.” It said. “She was thunderstruck, and you will be too.” It launched itself at the large cat biting into her throat. He then left, laughing.
The next day a group of lionesses saw the two bodies. They took them back to the rest of the lions. Everyone stared at the bodies in horror. “What happened?” Someone asked terrified. Then a large male lion appeared. “Who is responsible for this?” He asked. The lioness carrying the cub’s body looked at him eyes full of sadness. “Do you really have to ask? You should know by now who it is! It was Thunderstruck the wolf! Who else could it be?” He padded up to the terrified lioness. “I know they were your family, but we must move on, this will be a big loss to us but, we can’t dillydally, we have to continue our duties.” He left and the cats went in large groups to hunt.
Chapter 1
Thunderstruck bounded up onto a cliff with a small cat in his jaws. “Put me down!” It wailed. Thunderstruck smiled then dropped her off the cliff. He watched eyes gleaming with evil. The small cat flailed in the air and then hit the bottom. All was quiet for a while; he jumped from ledge to ledge until he reached the limp body. “You have been thunderstruck.” He then left the body and padded away. Just as he was looking back to see his victory once again, something knocked him over. He stared in awe. “Who are you?” He said straining to see the face through the bright sun.
The thing stared at Thunderstruck and let him go. “I am Snowstorm, who are you?” Thunderstruck now off the ground saw the face of his attacker clearly. It was a snowy white she-wolf with beautiful violet eyes. He blushed with embarrassment. “How did a she-wolf beat me?” He muttered to himself. Snowstorm looked at him angry. “So a she-wolf can’t fight?” She said enraged. She launched herself at Thunderstruck and bit into his shoulder.
Thunderstruck kicked Snowstorms belly trying to throw her off. Snowstorm growled and pushed his head in the ground then leaped off. Thunderstruck shook the dust off his pelt. “Look I’m kind of busy right now. Can we see each other later?” Snowstorm blushed and nodded. He smiled then left heading to a deep river.
Thunderstruck scented the air for his next victim but he was caught in his thoughts about Snowstorm. “What’s wrong with me? Why am I so distracted?” While he muttered to himself a flash of brown bolted past him. He growled then chased it, it was a plump rabbit. He hadn’t eaten in days and the rabbit brought up his hunger. He chased the rabbit pinning it down and killing it with a bite to the neck. “Stupid Snowstorm, I wish I never met her!” He growled. “Well that’s not nice to say.” Snowstorms voice said.
Thunderstruck turned around. Was she following him? Snowstorm smiled and went up to him. “What’s wrong?” He stared at her and moved away. “I’m busy, leave me alone.” Snowstorm looked at him confused and sighed. “Fine, just call me if you need me.” Snowstorm left with her head and tail down. Thunderstruck felt sad. “Wait! Come back!” He called. Snowstorm turned ears pricked. “What?” She said still sad. “Follow me.” He said happily.
Thunderstruck flung himself into a bush and carried out a small lion cub. “Help me! Help me!” It wailed flailing its paws in the air. Snowstorm stared at him confused. “What are you doing?” She asked. “Trust me it’s fun, just watch.” Thunderstruck dumped the cubs face in the river and held it down firmly. The cub flailed helplessly in the water then went limp. “You’ve been Thunderstruck.” He said.
Snowstorm looked at him. “Why did you do that? Wait, where have I heard that slogan from?” As she thought Thunderstruck went closer to her. “I kill cats and I am forcing them out of their territory so I can take over.” He said hoping she would not freak out. Snowstorm looked at him eyes showing nothing about what she was going to say. “If you think I’m going to freak out or something you’re wrong.” He smiled. “I was hoping you wouldn’t be freaked out. I want you to be partner. Help me take over the cat’s territory. Please Snowstorm.”
Snowstorm gazed into his eyes. “Yes, I’ll help you.” She said smiling. “Good, now follow me to my training area.” He replied happily. Snowstorm rolled her eyes. “I’ll do better than follow, I’ll beat you there.” She said while dashing off. Thunderstruck was surprised by her speed but caught up pretty quick. Then, out of nowhere Snowstorm vanished. He thought for a moment. “What just happened?” He asked himself. Then, in the corner of his eye he saw a flash of white dive into a bush. And then, out of nowhere a blood curtailing cry came from where the white streak was. Snowstorm then emerged out of the bush her snout and paws covered in crimson blood. She looked terrified.
